Fun Filled Friday

My red bug bites are better. Monkey Blood(Mercuicone {I can't spell}) and yellow vaseline works wonders. Still need to keep applying but they don't itch as much!
I repacked the camper and then went to the movies to see Shrek with Billie, Sammie, Bryon, Alexis, Chris, & birthday boy Bryan. The movie was alot of fun.
Now I am waiting for Pape to get here. He went pick up his bowling balls and equipment for the trip this week-end. He is bowling in the state tournament and I will be visiting the quilt shop (Quilting Niche) in Houma. This should be an interesting trip since he is in charge of getting directions to the lanes. mmmm good thing he doesn't bowl until 1pm.
While he is bowling, I am going to work on my Autumn Leaves quilt, do some more strip cutting, work on the Bead Bags, and maybe work on Tanya's purse or quilt. All except the fabric for the strips and Bead Bags are already in the camper so I don't have to add much.

Lator, gators. Beware of stupid people because stupidity is contagious.

Thursday Traveling

Today was a great day!

It is my third daughter's 35th bday. Tomorrow is my grandson's 6th bday and next week is mine, my mom's, my granddaughters 10th, and my stepson's 27th. June is just a month full of bdays.

I spent the majority of the morning sweeping this too big house. I love to sweep just like I love to hang clothes. Sweeping makes me feel good and is great exercise. The smell of clothes off the line is fantastic and that too is great exercise.

After that exercise, I took Pape eat a late lunch early supper in Kinder at the casino. We played for an hour and then rode home. This is was once a routine for us- at routine I miss. It is an hour drive to Kinder so that is enough time to talk about all the things married people and best friends need to hash out. The lunch and hour of play gives a person time to think about everything that was said. Then you reach a consensus on the way home. It is the perfect couple building time. It is how Pape and I survived all the nonsense that blending a family of grown children entails. LOL

When we got home, I checked on Cleo's puppies. There still seem to be 10 of those fat black wiggling puppies. The only problem I have is that with the whole back yard and a 24 by 20 room why does she have to put them right under my bedroom window. At 2am it sounds like there are a 100 crying puppies outside. LOL

Then Billie and Renee' came and we walked our 2.5 miles. That is another time of talking but Billie seems to be doing all the talking. That's ok because Renee' and I listen and give opinions that can be taken or not.

After the walk, we weigh on the scale since it was Thursday. Both my girls are upset because my scale does not show the same weight as theirs. It is about 3 pounds different. Renee' says she is not going to weigh on it again because it is not encouraging. Hey, I lost another pound and with the food I ate at the campground and my soup and sandwich for lunch, I was very happy.

Then I took a long hot bath. Walking in Louisiana even at 6:45pm is HOT and you sweat. I was ringing wet and have red bug bites on my legs and elbows that itch beyond endurance-mine. We went to the pharmacy and asked for something but they were stumped too. So I went to the old home remedy- monkey blood and yellow Vaseline. Monkey blood helps with the itching and the yellow Vaseline doesn't allow the bugs to breathe. Only Monkey Blood is no longer red. Now it is clear so that it won't stain. Mercurecone should be red.!

Tomorrow I need to repack the camper for the weekend trip which includes making the beds and sofa. I need to add fabric for the Cancer Bead Bags I will make this weekend. Then tomorrow afternoon I will be going to see Shrek 3 with Billie and grandkids. Fun Fun Fun! Serious fun!

Lator gators. Remember Stupidity is contagious so be careful!

Tuesday Catch-Up

It has been an interesting few days. Camping was very entertaining and called for lots of problem solving. First, it rained once a day every day and sometimes it stormed all day. The teens tent was underwater twice but everything survived the bath. They slept in the camper with us those nights. Then having 10 grandchildren running around the campground is very entertaining. Watching them swim and fish kept me in stitches. I am proud to report that Spirit took off her floaties and has become a fish and dog swimmer like Bryan. The horseflies and deer flies loved me as did the ants. But that was offset as I watched my third daughter catch her first fish and "burn her fat." The worst problem was that the internet was down and the managers are not computer lit or prone to taking advice from those who are. I was able to keep track of things with my phone but unable to blog.

All in all I had a great time despite the rain, insects, and lack of internet.

Stash report for the past week:
Added this week: 6 yards (finishing kit for BOM and 4 blocks)
Added YTD: 87.5 yards

Used this week: 12.12 yards ( strips, headbands, and file organizer for 2nd daughter)
Used YTD: 48.25 yards

Net stash busted: -39.25 yards (It is going down very slowly but going down.Hopefully, I will be at 0 before the end of the year.)

Design Wall: Nothing up until after all this travel.
Worked on hanging file folder for 2nd daughter and completed it.
Made 9 headbands for granddaughters. Kristin took 6 to college while Sammie and Jerri wore them camping.
Worked on Autumn Leaves blocks. I have sewn all the piecing papers I have and am putting the leaves together 5 at a time. Hopefully I will get to put them up next week so I can start sewing rows.

Exercise: I walked at least 10 miles this week.
I have walked every day at the campground and sometimes 3 times a day. I don't know how far each walk was but I do know that the pace was brisk and the sweat poured out of me even after we stopped.

Goals for this week starting on Sunday past:
1) Walk 10 miles Sunday to Sunday. ( I have walked every day at least once around the campground and 3 times on Monday and twice on Tuesday
2) Complete all Autumn Leaves blocks.
3) Support Pape at bowling tournament.
4) Support Sammie at doctor appt.
5) Find internet service Friday, Saturday, & Sunday while travelling.
Well gators, I am glad to be connected to the blogging world again. Have a blessed week.
