Stash Report

Added this week: 3 yards
Used this week: 5.83 (Large purse for Second DD and 6FQB)
Added YTD: -102.25
Used YTD: 88.25
Net stash busted/enhanced: -14 yards

I tried hard not to add fabric especially on Tuesday when my eldest met me at the LQS for our Tuesday Fabric Lunch. I bought fabric and sent it home with her! Better in her stash than mine!
Tanya, second DD, came on Monday and we made her student teaching bag. She comes and spurs me on to sew projects for her. It uses my stash w/0 me having to do all the work.
The good news is that I did sew and used 2 of the 3 yards of flannel I bought! We traveled to Florida for a bowling tournament in the RV. There were a few minor problems...like my DH turning off the generator in the middle of the night b/c he didn't hear the air run. At 3:51am I woke up drenched from head to toe and the generator wouldn't come back on. We ran the engine w/the air on until we found a plug near the bowling lanes. That worked until about 8:30am when we blew their circuit...but the generator had charged enough to run so no more problems. At about 10am on Friday, I began cutting and sewing. I was cool and happy! I completed my "6 fat quarter bag" and the binding on a quilt. The bowlers didn't see me until Saturday morning when I had finished my bag.
Second minor problem is that the RV ice box is still not functioning corectly and we are using RV this week for Quilt Camp. I can get around that with an ice chest and boys will be in air at quilt camp from 10 to 3pm. So that problem can wait until 26th.
Third minor problem was DH's desire to spend 3 hours 'lost' on the air force base lookng for their bowling lanes. Sometimes DH has to go on tangents like this. LOL I can't complain since he supports every crazy thing I do wholeheartedly. It was an interesting trip all in all. We (I) drove home in one day and that is tiring to say the least. We won't do that again.
Goals this week:
1) Stay cool and enjoy the grandsons.
2) Walk each day.
3) Sew something.
4) Don't stress over the little things.
Lator gators, have a blessed week. Hopefully the campground will have internet.

Design Wall Monday

Well, My design wall is still stagnet.
The black scrappy New York Beauty is still there waiting for me to decide which arrangement. I play with it and then look.
Today my second daughter came and spurred me to make her student teaching bag. I cut and designed while she sewed seams. It took about 5 hours for us to decifer the pattern and work out the kinks but in the end we had a very nice bag with 2 sets of handles and lots of pockets inside and out. It took 2 yards of stash. Yea!!! She also picked out fabric for a second purse now that we have the kinks out. More stash busting w/o me doing all the work!!
Tomorrow I will be taking PJ to get his fabric for Quilt Camp. Then the boys will get fabric for each back out of my stash. Big stash busting!!!
Wednesday and Thursday, DH and I will be traveling to Fort Walton, Fl for a bowling tournament on Friday & Saturday. While there I plan on doing some cutting and sewing for the boys and possibly work on my Secret Sister quilt which my muse has abondoned me on.
Pineapple or Dresden plate? That is the question. Right now I am leaning towards the Dresden plate in coffee related fabrics and neutrals. But the medium and darker fabrics would lend themselves to a Pineapple too. Whichever or whatever I choose, it must be able to be quilted in a quilt as you go fashion. ? Muse, where are you
Saturday afternoon and Sunday we will be traveling back home to pick up the boys and my Element to travel to Baton Rouge for a week of Quilt Camp.
So sewing may not be in my schedule for the next 2 week. Especially since the boys will have my sewing machine at camp. But you never can tell!
Well, today has been busy and fullfilling. After our walk/run/bike, I helped second DD clip third DD dog. Lucky was not happy but he needed to be rid of the mats. Now he can grow good hair which will be cared for.

Lator gators. Have a blessed evening and a great week.

Sunday Stash Report

Stash Report:
Added this week: 8.33 yards
Added YTD: 99.25 yards
Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 82.42 yards
Stash busted/enhanced: -16.83 yards
I was trying so hard to be good. I went with my grandson,Chris, to pick out fabric for Quilt Camp and all I bought was 1.33 yards of teal tone on tone. Teal is my favorite color. Chris, on the other hand, got 8 yards of fabric for his fence rail camp quilt. His aunt helped him find fabrics to go with the footballs. The quilt will be very dark but he loves these fabrics! Now I have to cut them for him. Next my grandson, PJ, and I need to go find fabric for his camp quilt. After that and before Wednesday, the boys have to find backing in my stash. After all, I have to get something from all this!LOL
Then Pape, DH, took me to the Krotz Springs Quilt Show. Fantastic quilts...very talented active group of ladies. I looked, I fondled, and I walked away and I even drug my DH away from some things. I was determined not to come home with anything but the pleasure of seeing those quilts.
But my muse had other ideas! When the second door prize was called lo and behold it was my number. 14 half yard pieces in red&white or black&white. They are fantastic.
Yesterday, after we got back from the Quilt Show and before it was time to walk, pape and I decided to take a much needed nap. When we got up, there was a surprise. Someone (think it is Lisa, SD) left a dog tied to our door. He is cute as a button, looks to be Shitu mix, and except for coat, seems to be in excellent health. It made Pape, DH, very angry that someone would do that to an animal. We are already having to bring 7 pups to the shelter and are leaving on the 14th for 10 days. Another dog just doesn't fit our plans and Lee, the king of the house, was not impressed by Lucky. So he was going to go to the shelter too. But he was LUCKY...my two youngest daughters came for our afternoon walk and both fell in love with him. So Lucky went home with Billie and Renee is waiting in case he doesn't work out there.
Lator gators, Have a blessed week!
