WIP Wednesday

This morning when I went out side, I found a present waiting for me. Years ago, my daughter gave me a rose for Mother's Day. Today it is the same size as it was then and looks like it is ready to die, but every once in a while when I seem to need encouragement, it blooms. I know that there was not a bud on that stem nor a rose yesterday but there it was today.

Today is Works in Progress (WIP) Wednesday. Today I am working on my dresden plates in blacks & whites with a yellow background. the center will be red, black and white. I have been sewing the blades together and making the fans. Each set of blades is handsewn on the background. I am not comfortable doing it with invisible thread on my sewing machine. One day I am going to have to ask for help on that process.

My second WIP is a powerpoint presentation for a program I will be giving at both my guilds in August on Labels. It will cover the WHY, WHERE, and HOW of labeling. I hope it goes well.

Tomorrow and Friday I am going with my 3rd daughter to make curtain etc for her classroom. It is a sacrafice since I would rather be sewing those days with Judy L.

Lator Gators, Let me know how you feel about labeling your quilts and how you do it.

Tuesday LQS Lunch

Well, this morning early I took my DH to the doctor, one of 4, and received good news for a change. His blood sugar finally went down and his blood pressure was normal, but he gain almost 6 pounds in three months.
After a visit to Wal-Mart for 20cent colors, off I went to meet my eldest DD for a "lunch" at the LQS. This has become a habit for the last couple of months. We talk about quilts we are working on and look at fabric we love. Sometimes we walk out with yardage and sometimes one of us doesn't. Today, we both walked out with fabric. DD bought fabric for a Saints quilt and I left with a 2 yard bundle that I had won earlier at the shop. We were both very happy.
I then drove home and finished reading the blogs for design wall on Patchwork Times. I am still not feeling well, so I went take a power nap.
Life has ups and downs so you have to go with the flow and rest when you can.

Lator gators. Have a blessed day.

Design Wall Monday

Dang! I won't have time to arrange the blocks to take a picture before I go help my daughter. It is school time again here and my 3rd daughter needs help setting up her classroom so mom is off to give help and advice. Now how 25 years of experience in middle school can help a 3rd grade teacher is beyond me but I am game. When I get back, I will put my blocks on the floor and take a picture of the dresden fans/plates that I am working on as a gift for my secret sister. Hopefully, none of the other guild members will see the blocks and give away the surprise.
