Saturday Thoughts
outside my window...branches swaying in the breeze
i am thinking...that family outings don't always have the outcomes people expect.
i am thankful for...laughter that my family brings to my heart.
i am wearing...blue shirt and black capris
i am remembering...other family get togethers.
i am listening to...the drum of the tv in the other room
i am going...to sew some more of the arrowheads
i am currently reading...blogs
i am hoping...that the bowling lane tomorrow is warm and the weather cool
i am looking forward to...International Quilt Festival in Houston
one of my favorite things...trying out new blocks with my twist on them.
Today was a great day but a long day. I spent the morning running around collecting things for the family gathering. Pape slept late because he has been feeling under the weather but won't admit it. He says I worry to much about him. He's right!
Then around 12 noon we went to the gathering. The food was excellent and the company interesting. Although I almost lost control of my tongue, I decided not to speak out about men who think they can do what they should not do and then expect their ladies to withstand the mess they get themselves into when it could have been avoided in the first dang place.
The kids, and I mean my daughters and grandchildren, were having a blast sliding down the waterslide that they finally got set up. Yes, it is still warm enough to play on a waterslide in the sun here.
Around 3pm, Pape and I went to Lafayette to pick up his bowling ball and we listened to the LSU game as I drove. Then we came home and I took a nap. I woke up just in time to find out that LSU lost by a touchdown.
Well, I went into the sewing room and tried out Anita's Arrowheads from the Quiltmaker's magazine. Only I enlarged the beginning square to 12" instead of 8 b/c I don't do small blocks. I ended up with a 14" block. It was really interesting to do.
Well, now it is time for bed since we have to be at the lanes for 8am and they are 80 miles away.
Lator, Gators.

wondering about things
I borrowed this from another blog and then filled it out with my thoughts. I don't remember which blog I got it from but I thank the person who did it.
Thinking Thoughts
outside my window...a lizard sunning on a branch
i am thinking...about how to do all I need to do Saturday and still get time to see my g-son.
i am thankful for...a wonderful husband who spoils me by letting me be me
i am wearing...old clothes with perfume
i am remembering...trips to Tunica, Ms.
i am listening to...the steady hum of my computer
i am going...to sew on Saints Stars
i am currently reading...blogs
i am hoping...for dry weather on Saturday
i am looking forward to...my grandson's visit
one of my favorite things...traveling in my RV with my husband and 3 dogs.
Pape and I went check on the car he is having fixed for Kristen, our GD. This is the second car that he has fixed for her use but the first never made it to her. He is keeping it for himself. Why? Only Pape knows - I think it reminds him of the old man who gave it to him.
Then we went to the RV repair shop to visit with our motor home. Pape left his shoes and battery charger in the RV and I had left the camera. He picked all of that up and his bag too. Later, we are going watch 2 of our grandsons play basketball at a nearby (under 50 miles) school. Usually we have to travel 109 miles or more to watch them play and we do this at least twice a season.
When we got home, I had mail. I love unexpected mail...I had fabric for the Charlotte Angotti quilt back and doll patterns I had won during blog giveaway week. They are so sweet!
Well, I am ready for a short power nap before starting since Pape is planning of bringing PJ, Chris, and Spirit.
Lator gators, Have a blessed weekend.

Design Wall Week 41
Well, again the same thing is on my design wall. I am in the quilting stage of my projects.
I am currently quilting Saints Stars and it is slow going. Then I have to work on my secret sister quilt due in December. I probably won't have much to show on the design wall until those two quilts are done. Hopefully, that will be sooner than later.
I have the next two graduation quilts in various stages of construction. One is also due in December (it will be on wall as soon as Saints Stars is quilted and DP is being quilted) and the other in May. Then I have several kits in various stages of construction needing completion. All the blocks of one are completed just waiting for me to decide how to quilt them. I usually quilt-as-you-go but am not sure with this pattern as how to best do that.
But I did have a finish this week...I made some practice blocks for my saints quilt. My grandson told me that my 4th dear daughter throws things at the TV and punches things, when the Saints are making stupid mistakes. So I made her a "Throw and Pound" pillow from those blocks. This keeps grandchildren and TV safe and makes good use of orphan blocks. LOL
DH, Pape, found two tall book shelves for more fabric storage. I don't think he wants to build more shelves. The neighbors next door left (landlord doubled rent for the old potato kilt they had fixed into a home) and put these in the trash. Guess they didn't want the landlord to have them and didn't have place in their new home.
I just looked at my followers...there are 6 people following my blog that are not family/best friend. WoW! Guess I will have to say interesting things and watch my belly aching. Thanks for following my wonderings.
Well, back to quilting on Saint Stars.
Lator Gators! Have a blessed week.

Stash Report Sunday week 41
Sometimes 3 is the charm!
Stash Report:
Fabric In this week: 0 yards
Fabric Out this week: 1.5 yards
Fabric In YTD: -165.5
Fabric Out YTD: 103.25
Stash Reduced/Enhanced: -61.25
Tuesday we arrived home from South Carolina.
Wednesday I cleaned out one closet in my sewing room looking for DD#1's Phaff manual. After I saw how much was stuff in the closet, I decided to make shelves on one side of that closet. DH and I went to the lumber yard to get supplies. Then I reloaded the closet and realized that we needed more supplies for the other side. I found fabric that I don't remember ever buying or receiving. That cured me of my desire for new fabric. I have a closet FULL! LOL The manual was hiding in the drawer with all the other manuals next to my Baby Lock. Don't tell DH that we didn't really need to build shelves that quickly.
Thursday we cleaned the RV.That afternoon, I went to a guild meeting where I turned in 5 fat quarters for various giveaways and my turtle lotto blocks for a total of 1.5 yards gifted. Oh, I wanted to win and didn't but I have the pattern.
Friday we took the camper to have the water pump looked at. I can camp w/o electricity (I have a hand crank sewing machine for the camper.) but not having water is a bummer.
Saturday I sewed/quilted on Saints Stars and only quit when I began experiencing a sharp burning pain in my back (Took my meds but took a while to work!) Earlier in the afternoon, my second DD and DGD came to go Dollar Store shopping. DD#2 put together the two bookcases to make a cutting table while DGD covered the top and decorated for Halloween.
Today, I plan to sew on the Saints Stars and watch the Saints (Hopefully they will win and make my quilt worth more!) with a visit to the local casino to pick up earrings. Hey, they give and I take!
Well, Lator Gators! Have a blessed day.
