accomplished Friday...sewed on Dresden plate and went run errands in Laf.
i am thinking....life is too short to stress over the small stuff.
i am wearing...jeans and a shirt but getting ready to change into favorite attire.
i am remembering....earlier happier times.
i am listening to....my step-son play our out of tune piano. He makes it sound good.
i am going...to bed early...bed is warm and I hurt.
i am currently reading...blogs.
i am hoping....it doesn't rain tomorrow so we can travel safe to lanes 90 miles away.
i am looking forward to....getting the furnace fixed.
one of my favorite things...peanut butter and cane syrup.
my mood...depressed due to visit of Art Rightis.

accomplished Thursday...listened to DGD#1 choir concert. They were great. I am looking forward to the Christmas concert.
i am thinking....red solid piping or paisley piping same as centers.
i am wearing...sweats but will probably change as it is getting warmer.
i am remembering...where I put that dang red fabric I bought for this quilt.
i am listening to....dog barking and zydeco of radio.
i am going...spend time with my husband and iron fabric.
i am currently reading...blogs and quilt magazines.
i am hoping...to find more time in my day before I shut down.
i am looking forward to...getting my must-do list done.
one of my favorite things...getting big bear hugs from my DGDs.
my mood...back in my mental hole but trying to climb out (2 steps up 1 1/2 steps down)

accomplished Wednesday...Yesterday was full as a tick ready to pop! I sewed on Dresden plate. We planted grass on half of the cleared area at the farm. We found car for DGD#2(Kristin). DD#4 got her van up and running. 
i am thankful for...Pape's service to our country for 25 years...with most of it in combat. 
outside my window...it is still quiet and dark
i am thinking...my angels worked overtime this week.
i am wearing...night clothes
i am remembering...my brother and Aunt Ruthie. I really miss his belly laugh and her creative thinking.
i am listening to...dogs and Pape(DH) snoring.
i am going...to KSG meeting today and will get boudin & cracklins while in KS. Those are the best treat. Tonight going to listen to DGD#1's choir sing.
i am currently reading...blogs and new quilt magazine.
i am hoping... Mr. Kenneth comes fix furnace before it gets under 45 & DD#4's van stays running until her car is fixed.
i am looking forward to...eventually cleaning and straightening my studio. It is so disorganized that even I can't find what I need in it. Up-side to that is I keep finding surprises that I forgot I bought. LOL But until my list of must-do's is complete, it will remain a rat's nest.
one of my favorite things...knowing my DDs are safe and as happy as they allow themselves to be.
my mood...calmer with more acceptance of Murphy's law.

accomplished...Wednesday was a run run day. We ran to bring DD#4 to work; ran to get grass seed; ran to see about car for DGD#2(Kristin); ran to check on element; ran to see about second car; ran home for lunch; ran to farm to plant seed; ran to pick up DD#4 from work; and ran to help fix her van. 
outside my window....darkness.
i am thinking...tonight I get to listen to my DGD#1(Sammie) sing.
i am thankful for...all God has given me especially Pape. He served in Air Force for 25 years and 15 were in combat areas. 
i am wearing....night clothes.
i am remembering....all the things I have to do today.
i am listening to....hum of computer
i am going...to go to KSG meeting today at 12 and then to listen to DGD#1 in choir to night at 7.
i am currently reading...blogs.
i am hoping...I get thru quilting Dresden plates and Saint Stars soon.
i am looking forward to...seeing DD#2 and DGD#1

Nov. 9th NaBloPoMo

i am thankful for...all that I have been granted by the Lord - my health(not perfect but not awful),my husband(still with me and moving), my children(pains but pleasures too), my grandchildren (provide enough laughter & love to keep me going), and personal wealth(not alot but enough to supply my needs & support my fabric habit most months although things  will be a bit tight until February.)
outside my window...the neighbors are cutting the grass and winterizing their yards.
i am thinking...angels appear when you least expect it if you believe they will. DD#4's car is broke and she has been frantic looking for someone to bring it to the mechanic w/o luck. Today an angel called out of the blue and offered to do it.
i am wearing...sweat pants and sweatshirt - my favorite attire.
i am remembering...my brother.
i am listening to...zydeco and the lawn mowers.
i am going...to install EQ7 on this machine.
i am currently reading...blogs
i am hoping... DD#4 gets her car fixed soon so she will stop stressing and being depressed.
i am looking forward to...listening to my DGD sing on Thursday. 
one of my favorite things...my granddaughters' laughs and giggles.
my mood...getting calmer inside -2 steps forward and only 1/2 backwards. Soon it will be all forward! 
 Pape needs a third hand. He is trying old mechanic tricks on DD#4's car and charging battery to van. I wonder when he will decided to work on my element.

On my design wall, I have the different quilt designs I might use on my dresden plates. In Houston, I bought several more designs so I am stitching them out to see which one I like best for the quilt.

i am hoping... the cars all start working properly. My Element wouldn't behave for DD#4 so DH & I had to rescue her again. She is w/o a ride so...
i am looking forward to...using the new ruler I bought to make interlocking borders. 
i am proud...of my daughters. DD#1 has really struggled with the Phaff machine I gave her but has not given up. She studied the problem, figured out what she needed and found help in Houston even though the Phaff salesperson didn't know what the heck he was talking about. 
one of my favorite things...getting up early and enjoying a cup of coffee in the quiet. Then sewing quietly in the studio.
i am wondering...how I got non-family followers and if my blog is interesting, funny, and/or creative or none of the latter. IDK! 
accomplished today...less than I wanted but more than usual considering I had to drive to Lafayette and back and will have to do it all over later this evening.

my mood...optimistic and climbing out of that hole at a quicker rate. (2 up and only 1 down)

Nov 7 Stash Report & NaBloPoMo

Stash Report:

Stash Reduced/Enhanced: -75.287 yards


Those numbers are going in the wrong direction but soon I will have used numbers to show. Besides I spend two days looking and fondling the sweetest fabrics in Houston and only came home with 8.917 yards. All of it has a purpose except 1.5 yards of hand-dyes that I get every year. Soon I will have enough to do a quilt. Whoo hoo!


I bought 1 1/6 yards to make a pillowcase for my grandson's bday present and 6.5 yards for my niece's wedding quilt. Now that purchase was hard! She asked for pink and brown - pink is one of my no-no colors especially pale pink shades. 


I had lots of fun in Houston and took pictures with my camera, phone, and daughter's camera then read in program that I can't post them w/o giving credit to quilter and IQFH. Well, I have no problem with that except that I didn't get the quilters' names. Oh, well. I loved the quilts but not many of them survived the husband test. "Would your husband sleep under that quilt?" It seems that each year more and  more quilts are art quilts and not bed quilts. 


I loved the pineapple quilts and even bought the book & ruler for myself and Pam, BFF. Well, it is time for me to get to reading 3 days of blogs and Judy L.'s stash reports.

Accomplished today...Viewed quilts at IQFH; bought scissors; bought quilting pes designs; bought pink(ugh) & brown fabric for niece's wedding quilt; bought John Flynn templates; and special ruler; and all kinds of things - bag is full.
I am thinking...I am glad this happens only once a year!
I am looking forward to...getting home and showing my treasures to Pape & Pam.
