Anniversary Gift - Check TO IRS

12 years ago my sweet DH asked me to marry him. Not because he loved me b/c he said no piece of paper could change that. Not because my mom wanted him to do so before she died and it was thought she wouldn't come out of the hospital that time.  But because he wanted me to be financially secure in my old age and only way he could insure that was to marry me. How's that for a proposal!
So I said yes providing we got married on April 15th. It is one day he can't forget! LOL Since that year, our anniversary gift to each other is to write the check to the IRS...sometimes small but most often larger than we would like and last year larger than we could afford at that time of year. This year we made our yearly trip to the accountant to have her tell us we don't have enough deductions but we all decided that it was a good thing since our major bills are paid and we are healthy so I guess paying the government a bit of extra money isn't so bad after all.
Instead of my getting a diamond ring (which I really didn't want or need), IRS got a substantial check. But we still have enough to gas up the motor home, pack up the dogs, and head for Ms. for the GSQA meeting tomorrow. God is good to us and provides us with what we need when we need it. If fact He provides enough for us to share with our children and grandchildren when they need. Can't ask for better than that!
Lator Gators! We are off to celebrate our time together.

Full Moon =Drama King and Queen Making their Appearance AGAIN

Full Moon brings out crazy behavior!
We got the taxes ready but the accountant wasn't there so we went have lunch and picked up Lilly from the vet. She is on heart worm treatment and needs special care aka spoiling. Then we came home to wait for grandchildren. They arrived as did son's girlfriend. She washed and hung a load of clothes. Then she and I took a walk with two of the grandchildren on their bikes. The walk was brisk and wonderful. Then Moon Madness struck!
When we got back to the house, the Drama Queen had started a drama and the Drama King took up the slack. All of this happening in front of 4 of my grandchildren. I politely asked the Drama Queen to go to her own house and the Drama King to go to his. She refused and he escalated the drama by yelling at everyone and accusing everyone of cavorting with the enemy including the children.  By this time I had enough and turned my back on the whole situation and helped my husband back the camper up into its spot so we could plug it in to charge the generator batteries. It seems the drama started when DH refused to let the Drama King do the backing. Drama Queen added fuel to the fire making a mountain out of a pimple.
Drama Queen and King continued the drama until Drama King said words to DH that he repeated back. Then Drama King stormed off declaring that he was leaving for North Dakota immediately and that no one cared using curse language that was offensive to me especially since it was in front of my grandchildren. By then I had had enough. I told Drama Queen not to come to our home in the afternoons and her father seconded that idea. Hopefully, she will do just that. She also got upset and went home.
This is one King and Queen that can not be in the same place at the same time. Tomorrow is another day of the full moon so there is no telling what the King and Queen will pull. It will be interesting for certain and I hope I can keep from getting angry and telling them both to go jump in a bayou to cool off or worse.
DH and I have declared our house a NEUTRAL ZONE and if that doesn't work then I will go to WAR on DRAMA and declare it a NO MAN'S/WOMAN'S LAND. I really don't think either the King or Queen want that b/c I really think they enjoy their little dramas.
We were thinking of leaving on Friday since it is our anniversary and I have a GSQA meeting on Saturday in Long Beach, Ms. Now we are definitely leaving that day providing we get our taxes to the accountant. Then the King and Queen will have no one to see their performance and hopefully that will stop the drama in its tracks.
Lator Gators. It is quiet now and I am going rest my nerves. DH is at the local casino resting his and calming down. Thanks for letting me vent! This surely lets me keep stress at bay.

The Lazy Bug Struck!

Here it is April 13 and I haven't done my taxes, made my swap block, put together a plan for the quilting of DJ's Graduation Quilt due on May 31st, bound Tanya's Graduation Quilt, bound Dee's strip quilt, or worked on UFO # 4 yet. I got bit by the LAZY BUG and I have it bad. Time just flies by w/o me noticing that I am doing NOTHING! I have to snap myself out of this lazy state.
    Plans for today:
1) TAXES (Update: My part done -now we go to accountant! We pay again! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US! Yes, we were married on April 15, 1999. So our gift to each other is our tax bill. lol)
2) Finish Spirit's bed recover which means put new shelving unit in studio and empty bed and then sew cover to bed. Not hard just time consuming.
3) Sew on Swap block - fabric and pattern are chosen and pulled from stash so all I have to do is sew.
4) Sew first 4 blocks of DJ's quilt.
So I had better get started.
Lator Gators! May the fabric you want show up in your stash. Keep 2011 STRESS FREE!

Stash Enhancement/ Busted:  31.75   yards

I spent the week binding for DD#1's craft show which was a bust b/c the organizers forgot it was Strawberry Festival Weekend. Yet she isn't discouraged and plans to be at another festival on the first Saturday of May.
I finished binding Saints Super Star Season so I am counting it. The label will be put on when DD#3 gets back from DD#1's house on Monday. Finishing that quilt and the compliments I got on it made up for it being rejected by the person it was made for. It didn't sell at the craft show so Pape gets to keep it for the camper. LOL
I took a wild, wonderful, and winding road trip from DD#1's house to Cottage Creation in St. Gabriele. The fabric selection was fantastic for such a small shop. I bought 3 dies for my Go and a ruler for the KSG challenge. Even though the fabric was yelling my name, none came home with me.
This week I plan on working on a graduation quilt and binding a graduation quilt.
Lator Gators. I have to go recover DGD#5's headboards. May all the fabric you need find its way into your stash. Keep 2011 STRESS FREE.
