Design Wall Monday, April 9, 2012

My sewing room may be a time warp and the best diet aide I could find. This morning, I started playing with fabric at 8am only leaving for potty and water breaks. I really thought it was only about 1pm when DH came in at 5:15pm to ask about DGC and bowling.
Last night I was reading blogs and one blog lead to another with a zig-zag pattern which really struck a cord with me. It is called a Patchwork Chevron by Jeni from In Color Order done for the Moda Bake Shop. I fell in love!
Large 11" homespun ziggy
Her directions called for 5" squares in a 9 patch combined with  a 14" square cut diagonally to yield 2 squares. I had some 4" squares and cut an 11" square. I liked what I saw.
Then I took my 2 1/2" strips and started doing random sewing of strips together combining them with a 6 1/4" square. So Glenda, here is the beginning of my zig-zags.
   Plans for the week:
   Monday: Play with making zig-zags.
Tumblers waiting for binding & label
Tuesday: Sew binding on Tumblers & Live, Love, Learn, & Laugh. Also finish taxes. Sew 10 more blocks of rainbow ziggy and 4 more blocks of homespun ziggy by Friday.
Wednesday: Quilt on Saint Stars 2 and put 2 rounds on Halloween Graduation Quilt.
Thursday: Quilt on Saint Stars 2 and put 2 more rounds on Halloween Graduation Quilt. Hand sewing of binding on T & LLLL.
Friday: More quilting on Saint Stars 2 and 2 more rows on Halloween Graduation.
   Saturday: Hand sew binding.
Sunday: Hand sew binding. Make labels.
Lator Gators! My bed is calling. Keep making Lemonade from Life's Lemons.
