I have been on retreat all week and you would think that I would have more to show in the used column!
Monday I worked on Bee Blocks including my own and the back for the Hess Baby Quilt. The back is finished except for the embroidery so it is counted.
Tuesday, I worked on Garden Maze. It needs borders which I will get next week when we travel to Abita Springs.
Do you see the design goof?
Wednesday, I worked on the brown bag and completed it so it is counted. Glenda made me the cutest flower to go on it.
Then I worked on my ziggy quilt. After the borders were on, we noticed a design goof which became a design opportunity. Later that evening I quilted on my July message center.
Thursday, Charlotta Angotti Mystery Quilts were on the agenda. I completed all the blocks for CAM2 and now need to construct the setting triangles. I deconstructed CAM1 and reconstructed it correctly. Now I need to get the fabric for the borders and construct them.
Friday, I worked on binding Log Cabin Squares. I also went to Hobby Lobby and found the cutest bears and blue flannel for a baby quilt. Then I went to Glenda's home and spent the night with her and Frank, Cloey, and DiNozzo. We went out to supper with Ann and Press. It was very entertaining to see how the 4 of them react to each other. I had a blast. Then we went back to Glenda's home and I took a long hot bath. ( During the retreat, it was all cold showers since when I got to them there was no HOT water.) That bed felt like heaven after the bunk!
Saturday,  we had breakfast with coffee at a cute place and then headed to the farmer's market. I bought fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, cantaloupe, and a sweet tator pie for DH.
Then I met Pam & Dottie at the GSQA meeting and got to see Lynn Roddy Brown speak. Wonderful way to end the week! Good friends and good times. When I finally got home, DGD#1 hugged me and told me "No more leaving! That was enough - she missed me too much when I was gone." That really warmed my heart b/c she isn't a hugger.  She even had supper ready for me - sausage and potatoes. It smelled wonderful but I had stopped at the Boudin shop and well you know my weakness. Also those tomatoes and cucumbers were calling my name!
Today, DD#2 is  planning on visiting so we can work on a organization plan for her classroom. I also plan on finishing my bee block for July...I left the directions home and couldn't bring them up on my phone.
Lator Gators! Well, like my DH always says - It is Mind over Matter - If you don't Mind, then it don't Matter!

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful retreat Charlene - and got lots done! I'm headed home on Friday but wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed meeting you and attending your guild meeting. I'll be back in February but we're not coming in the summer any more. I need to get my husband out of this heat and humidity and if we're here he insists on working out in it all day, every day. Can we say stubborn? :( blessings, marlene
