This week I worked on the Halloween Graduation Quilt and Saint Stars 2. Pictures on tomorrow's Design wall.
The meds the doctor has me taking seem to be working. I am feeling so much better not having all that pain. You know what kind I mean...you don't hurt enough to stop or complain so you get use to feeling that way and it becomes normal. When it stops, you suddenly realize how much pain you really were in and how it was affecting you. It feels so GOOD not to be hurting so much...no headache, no stiff jaw, no sty, no irritated skin... 90% of the time. Now if the belly and butt would just join the parade I would be in heaven! LOL
Lator Gators! Lorenzo has gotten tired on my typing so off to bed we go. We have to get up early to travel to Lake Charles for DH's bowling or at least I do.

Yep...

First thing my doctor asked me, "What kind of trouble did you get into to now?" Then he saw my stomach and said, "What in the heck did you do?" I don't know...just daily work out on the abdominal machine; inclined sit-ups; and lots of crunches, mopping, and sewing.
He put me on some large expensive pills for the next ten days. NO AB work in fact no exercise that involves movement of the abs. Heck, I move my abs to walk, sit, sew, and even to get out of our waterbed (yes, we still have one of those).
My baby will be 33 next Tuesday and the scar, Well, it was badly infected and had a lesion on it. It didn't hurt unless it was touched or I moved wrong so I didn't worry about it.
This infection was the cause of my headache, chills, fever, stiff jaw, boils, sties, etc.  I was sicker than I thought! Oh, and if it is not better significantly by Monday, I have to go back for stronger meds and probably more expensive.LOL
Happily married couples share everything even germs!  DH's sty & under-the-arm boil, which is as big as a baseball, was also caused by the same germs so he is on the same meds.
I have been working on Saint Stars 2 and the Halloween Graduation Quilt instead of exercising but don't think doctor would approve of that either since I have to get up from machine to iron and trim each round. It is now 36" across.
Oh, well....if I don't mind then it don't matter. Right? Besides, I am feeling much better! One day I will go back and read this and laugh.

mmmm Must be sick...

because I called the doctor and asked for an appointment and I don't do that normally. I avoid the doctor as much as I can using herbs and minerals to sooth my illnesses. But my head hurts and am sick to stomach and I hurt in other regions enough to make me uncomfortable whether I sit, stand, or lay down. I woke up at 5am; was out of bed by 5:30am which is very early even with Lorenzo as my alarm clock. I took Excedrin which usually eases my pains so I can fall asleep, but still couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep.
Fixed a large cup of coffee and sewed on the graduation quilt that Samantha planned when Simply Quilts was on the TV and has collected a large container of fabric for me to use to make it. Yards and yards and yards of fabric all Halloween themed!
Not the normal spider web quilt with smaller webs, oh no! Not the one shown on Simply Quilts either since she wants it to fit on a double bed not as a wall hanging. Oh, and it must have attached yo-yo spiders of various sizes just like the one on Simply Quilts.
Yep, it is a spider web octagon done log cabin style with black batting. I am doing it semi-qayg - using the batting as stabilizer. Then I will add backing (more Halloween fabric) and quilt diagonal lines in a silver thread.
It is going faster (already 28" across) than I thought it would and it is fun to do even with a monster headache. I just might finish this one on time too. Just may not have the yo-yo spiders ready in time!
Lator Gators! Off to the Doctor.

Just a Thought

Charlotte Angotti posted this and I am sharing it. Some of these friends have become friends in the last year but they are close as those I've known for years.

This week I have not pieced a stitch. Monday I learned so much in the Sue Nickels' class on machine quiltingI am a very slow machine quilter but have been working on Saint Stars 2 every day.
I usually send my tops and backs to DD#1 who now has her Bailey (Ms. B.) working properly. She did fantastic custom quilting on the Phaff System so I can't wait to see what she will accomplish now. She loves to quilt for others and money earned supports her stash addiction.
Tumblers will be the first quilt that she will do for me on that machine. I have 2 waiting but don't want to overload her with my quilts. DD#1 is also a prolific piecer and has multiple tops needing quilting. Her twin & king sized LSU Crystal Ball Quilts are amazing! I wish I were as talented.
Later this year she will return my Phaff System to live in my den. Then maybe I will be able to quilt my own utility quilts and only sending the special ones to her. I can dream, can't I?
Lator Gators; I have a complicated prom dress to alter and Saint Stars 2 to quilt! Keep making Lemonade out of Life's Lemons.
