Sleeping Cats & Grands

Me-new's new sleeping place
Life is full! Working 8 hours again - no more week long visits to retreats & New Orleans in the plans. Boo hoo!
Sammie, DGD#2, let me know last week that I am going to be a great-grandma. I told her that I was already a great grandma! Then she tells me that she is having cravings for Vidrine's and spaghetti & my meatballs. So we arranged for the three of them to come to the house so we can go to Vidrine's. Well, for the second time in 15 years, we had a lousy time. Food was excellent but service was worse than the worse. Loud. Rude, and abrupt. It took 3 & 1/2 hours to get our meal. She didn't wait on us for 30 minutes after we were seated and DH had time to go to DS house before we got our drinks, another 20 minutes. DD#2 ordered root beer when we ordered our steaks & onion blossom which came very quickly after ordering the root beer was another 30 minutes but food was still a dream. DH left and went to Opelousas and made it back and still no food. DD#2 had enough and went talk to manager - our steaks had not been put on ! No tip and angry locals! When we got the steaks, they were perfect but we don't eat much after 9:30pm so lots came home.
I am getting ready to start the meatballs. Me-new is upset b/c she is limited to sewing room since Sammie is not allowed to pet cats. Big Chris, Sammie's bf, is here too since he had to talk to DH and me privately. Me-new and I worked on the camo diaper bag with orange trim this morning- not our cup of tea so she hid in drawer.
Well, I'm off to cook. Lator Gators.

  1. Sammie can pet the cats, they don't want pregnant women changing the litter boxes. Petting is fine!

Toxoplasmosis is a disease that can be transmitted from cats to humans (although other infection routes such as undercooked meat are much more frequent). If a pregnant woman is infected with this parasite for the first time during a pregnancy the effect on the baby can be severe. Your wife should not handle the litterpan during the pregnancy and should wash her hands after handling your cat. Toxoplasmosis is much more likely to occur in outdoor cats as it is transmitted to the cat through hunting of small animals.
