Stash Report Sunday, May 25, 2014

Pattern: Strawberries & Cream by Cynthia Brunz found in quilts NOV/DEC 2013

Fabric In: 0 yards
Fabric In YTD: 55.25 yards
Fabric Out: 0 yards
Fabric Out YTD: 37.75 yards
Enhancement: 17.50 yards

I have been working on this uneven log cabin pattern. The original was scrappy reds and whites but I didn't have a very big variety of scraps in red or white. Besides I didn't really like the scrappy look.

All I have left is to iron back; put halves together; attach borders-red 1 1/2", white 2", & red 4 1/2". Then I get to count the fabric for the top. Putting a back together from my stash will be the challenging part. Mainly because I usually put together big blocks of random colors which sometimes  makes DD#1 shake her head in disbelief.

I have been on a red kick or so it seems b/c I have a second top that just needs the finishing borders and a back from stash. Then I will have another finish.

So close and yet so far away!

  4. Like the log cabin variation. Someday I want to try a log cabin pattern....once I can bring myself to cut the strips.
