Update on Goals for Week:
1. Sew together center and put border 1 on KS BOM - Not 1st border. Changed my mind as to color.
2. Find fabric to complete Border 2 of KS BOM and begin piecing border- Bought new fabric and made all the 9 patches for border 2.
3. Sew blocks together to make another Geema 18 top as leader/enders. Several rows complete (on-going project for 2016)
4.Continue locating and cutting scraps into usable pieces. Continuing.
5. Put binding on DD#1's quilt. Finish binding on Soccer Beauty. (TV project)
6. Sort thru boxes in studio for scraps, UFOs, and usable fabric, etc. Organize if possible.Continuing
7. Complete Block 6 of J&B BOM. (moved to next week)
8. Make log cabin blocks - black &white for KS Bingo. (Moved to next week. due in March)
9. Finish tying PJ's Sneakers. (Still tying)
10. Move one short bookcase from den to studio. Cleared and moved.
Soon I will have 3 big reductions - Sneakers, Soccer Beauty, and the Wedding Quilt (KS BOM).
I found an error on the center and was going to leave it but it is bugging me. More unsewing. UGH!
The more I looked at the red border next to the quilt the more I wanted to change the color. My choices were tan like the medallion center or red like the majority of the blocks. The red, in my opinion, accents the busyness of the quilt, while the tan calms it down.
So I have decided to use tan as the 1st border and red as the binding.
I spent the day making the pieces for the second border and then ripping almost every one as I did them backwards. But I now have top and bottom borders made. This afternoon I will be making the side borders and rip the offending block. Fun, Fun, Fun!
Oh, as I knew would happen, after I bought, cut, and sewed the new fabric to replace the one I couldn't find, I found the bag of fabric in a bag that was right behind me the whole time. Oh, well, the Mystery from Hell will become another Wedding Quilt for later. Life is full of turns and twists!

  1. I lose stuff all the time.....and not just fabric. I took Chloe to the vet, used my glasses to sign the credit card payment, got home and never found them again. I tore the car apart. Like a black hole, it was. How could they disappear like that? The girls at the vet looked everywhere I was.......no glasses.

    never found them......miss them lots.

  3. Well you are definitely focused on what is to be completed next. The KS BOM is quite wonderful. I love the border you are making for it. Hope you keep up with your list. Quilters seem to always have seem to have the next project in mind while working on the current one.
