I finished the first of the wheelchair quilts on Tuesday. I designed, pieced, and quilted it.
Wednesday was NOT a good day. I was stung by a wasp near my eyes. Thank goodness that my glasses were in the wasp's way! It hurt and burned like heck. First, my nose swoll like my grandfather's and is still larger than normal. Then, that night my eyes swoll closed. I took benyrl and put ice packs and warm/hot cloths on the affected
area. Nothing was hurting but I looked bad. Friday, it was red but better. Saturday, I wasn't as swollen but itching started around eyes. Today, it is a bit better but now in my cheek bone area. Each day gets better! It has not stopped me either.
Thursday at the Krewe of Quilters meeting there was free fabric and 3 two yard pieces and 2 one yard pieces came home with me. Michael Young presented more of his quilts. He is a fantastic art quilter.
Saturday, I drove back to Baton Rouge to take a class with Connie Ewebanks on curved piecing.

She made it so easy that I completed 51 seven inch blocks which is enough for a small sofa quilt. Using the Go cutter made it so much faster!  I also went visit Glenda & Frank and got to love on DiNozzo.
Today, I plan on killing wasp and sewing block together. Football and binding are also on the menu.

  1. Ouch, that stings! So glad the glasses were protection. Loving your curves. I haven't quite mastered them, yet.

  2. I can't imagine what would have happened had the wasp not hit the glasses first! And you still looked beautiful when you stopped by! It was just that good to see you!

  3. Best time to kill wasps is in the evening when they are all in their nests, and there's less danger of them biting you are they are sluggish. Just identify where their nests are during the day. I would be in hospital as I am allergice to bee and wasp stings. Great numbers and great plans.
