This week has been a whirl wind. DD#4 decided to invade my sewing room on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. She grabbed fabric off my shelves Tuesday and moved the 2 small bookcases from the sewing room to the studio. Then Wednesday she insisted that we organize the fabric. I use the Roy G Biv method with Brown, Black, and White as separate categories. I also group fabrics that were bought as sets. That didn't work for her!

Thursday she came and pulled more fabric and projects. She began to stress me out since I am working on several scrap and other projects with the fabric grouped in various areas. I kept having to take things from her and put them on the side. She kept fussing that she wasn't losing them just moving them.  I kept having to tell her that those things needed to be together where I could reach them. We have two very different organization methods. She is a "OCD" about mess and I work best in an organized mess - one where I know where everything is whether other understand my organization procedure or not. Very Stressful!!! I don't know how we are going to compromise to be able to work in the same space. One of us will have to change a bit or I will be sewing in the office of the studio where I can hide my "mess".
Friday, DH and I traveled to Maurepas for DGS#7's high school graduation. We were in charge of bring the boudin. The traffic thru BR was horrible. It took an hour and a half to go from the bridge to 12. We arrived in time to watch the getting ready activity. The boudin almost didn't make it to the after party since DGS's#2, #4, #7, & DD#1 had to sample it several times.
We didn't leave Maurepas until 11pm and had a great time. Home was 2hr and 30mins away so we got home around 1am. Long day!!!
Saturday, DH kidnapped me and we drove 'until he was sweating', had lunch, and he played for an hour. Then he drove home while I napped!!!
Next week should be quieter! I plan on working every day for at least 2 hours at the shop.
Well, time to get moving.
Lator Gators! Keep making lemonade!

  2. I can take someone moving some things a little but not reorganizing my fabric unless it is straightening up the fabric. I wish you luck working together!
