This has been a very busy week, but my sewing machine was quiet all week except for Saturday. Monday I worked on binding my grandson's quilt. Tuesday, guild meeting at 9am; lunch with Bonnie Hunter; shop time with BH at BQS; power nap; and second guild meeting from 6pm to 9pm. Wednesday, all day monitoring BH workshop and then drive BH to Baton Rouge and drive home again. Thursday, up early to bring DGD to school, work on binding, meeting with friend, pick up bowling equipment, bring computer to shop, and house work. Friday, finish binding, lunch and supper with DH, and more house work. Saturday, all day workshop as participant with BH. I made 2 long braids and gave them to DD#1. Why? B/C while lots of fun mindless sewing, it takes too many braids to make a quilt. I like blocks and scrappy is not really my thing. I like to control how things look. This technique might/will definitely be used in a border on one of my next quilt projects. Sunday, all day in bowling alley watching DH bowl.
I did finish binding on the back of the quilt for my grandson. Now DD#1 will put the binding on the edges.
DD#1 did not finish quilting Palmetto, UFO #6, so I didn't get to count it yet. I cut and ironed the binding for Spirit's Frogs and will be working on that this week. I also need to cut and iron binding for Orange Tom Cat and Palmetto so they can be bound too. Saints' Star Season also needs one more border and the binding done but may only get the binding. That depends on how I feel when I pick it up.  My grandsons' quilts need sewing around the edges so that they can tie them. So much to do that doesn't count against my stash!
Tomorrow I will be working on the last borders of Tanya's Graduation Quilt. It needs to be ready on Tuesday to go to DD#1 for quilting. Along with it will go all the fabric that is left. it is better in her stash than mine!!!
This week I plan to work on Lotto blocks that I have for 3 different guilds and to design and construct the swap block. I am looking for Mardi Gras fabric that does not have a dark background. I will also be spending lots of time hand sewing binding on the finished quilts.
Well, Lator Gators. May the fabric you need for all your projects find its way into your stash.
