Stash Report Sunday, April 15, 2012

Ziggies are habit forming! Or is it the 9 patches that are additive? Maybe both! Which ever it is, the zig zag block took over my sewing time. Instead of doing all the things I had planned, including doing taxes, I sewed ziggies! Too many for the background squares in fact so there will be a second ziggy quilt to be had.
One row to go and then we have a center
Only problem is that it is scraps so I can't count usage until a top is put together. Second problem is that DH has claimed this first one just like he claims all the other quilts I make. Since 3 quilts will be leaving soon for graduation gifts, the first ziggy will be all his - big enough for the camper, but not big enough for our bed because I ran out of background.
(I won this at KSQG meeting on Thursday!)

Stash Report
Fabric Added to Stash this week: 1 yard
I add fabric even when I stay out of LQS and off line!
Fabric Added in April: 3.5 yards
Fabric Added YTD: 10.4 yards
Fabric Used this week: 0 yards
Fabric Used in April: 0 yards (I'm sewing but projects  aren't finished yet!)
Fabric Used YTD: 35 yards
Stash Enhanced: 24.5 yards It is going down at a steady pace but still in the black!
I am planning a purchase this next week. Patty sent me some beautiful vintage bowties and 9 patches. Thanks so very much, Patty! I am going get some cheddar to sash them. As for the 9 patches, well, my  warped mind is thinking that there are enough to make a nice sized top if combined with a deep cream. Cutting vintage blocks to make a ziggy is unbelievable! I told you they were additive!
Lator Gators! I have a retreat to get ready for, taxes to prepare, and it is my anniversary on this Tax Day...DH has managed to survive 13 years putting up with my warped mind! Keep making Lemonade from Life's Lemons.

Those bowties will look just perfect with cheddar. That is my new favorite color.
And I kinda like that black and red pile as well.....but there is little I DON'T like!!

  4. Your ziggy is adorable - 9 patches are my favorite block ever. So funny that your DH claims your quilts - mine could care less, just a "that's nice, what's it for?" Can't wait to see what you do with the vintage blocks.
