Lorenzo the pug

I just gave away 4 puppies even though I wanted to keep two of them...the female b/c of her size (8 oz at 4 months old) and the male b/c of his personality. Pape and I decided we didn't want any more 4 legged children. Lilly was scheduled for surgery and then the big dogs attacked her. That put off the surgery but only until her wounds got better.
Well, yesterday, DSS's girlfriend and DSD came in with a pug puppy each. DSS's was white and looked like my white pekingese w/o the hair. DSD looks like the doggy agent in Men in Black movies. After Ami died, the only dog I would consider owning was a pug and then I was given my 1st yorkie. Well, to make a long story short, my DSS has had a mood change and doesn't want the puppy so it is living with me.
Lorenzo
Since the puppy came w/o invitation, we named him Lorenzo after a thief who years ago would break into homes and help himself to lunch, clean-up after himself, and leave a thank you note.  So far Lilly, Lulu, and King Leeapaul don't mind the puppy so all is good. Two of my daughters have volunteered to take him and give him a great home if the yorkies decided he can't stay.

March UFO

I had to change the numbering on my UFO list b/c my quilter is slowing down. She hasn't even started quilting UFO #10 b/c she is still working on Tanya's Graduation Quilt. I am not really complaining since her work is outstanding and she is custom quilting Tanya's quilt (It looks so great!) but I have to plan ahead since we both need to have Charity quilts ready for April.(Mine will be the Fish quilt.)
#1 was Alexis' Purple Faux Double Wedding Ring and it is a quilt-as-you-go project soooooooo I moved it to Letter e and moved DJ's Graduation Quilt to #1 since it is needed in May and will also need custom quilting. This way DD will have plenty of time to finish Tanya's quilt, one or two of her own, quilt DJs by the end of May, and maybe even finish  #10. I can finish the top for #1 and then work on the two charity quilts, Alexis', and maybe even finish Star Season.
I don't think DD realized what she was getting into when she agreed to do my quilting for me in exchange for the machine. She didn't know I had that many UFOs close to being ready for quilting.
Guess I am going to have to start saving for a HQ 16 for me/her to use.

This week has been a very interesting week.
Monday, I attended a workshop on how to make a quilt with border fabric. I used old fabric from my stash to make this first attempt and it came out better than expected. (Pictures tomorrow)
Tuesday, I gave a presentation to the QGA on how to make a 3D 5 patch block. I gifted the guild one of the two tops I made with backing for it. I kept the second to quilt and gift next month.
Wednesday, I prepared for a trip with my daughter and did a little sewing and lots of binding. I also took DGD#1 to the health unit to get the shots (4) she needed for her internship. We couldn't remember if she ever had CP and neither could anyone else in the family so she got that shot too.
Thursday, I picked up my female yorkie from the vet. Tuesday evening my neighbor's 3 large dogs attacked her but being quick they only got one bite. She will be ok but it is going to take time. After Pape assured me that he would take good care of her, I left to drive the 100+ miles to my daughter's house.
Friday, we drove back to my area and then north to the baseball fields. My DGS's team won the first game. We then drove again to the hotel and to get something to eat. That is another story!
Saturday, we went back to the field and watched 2 more games. They lost the first and won the second. We then drove back to my daughter's house and I drove back to my house to find Pape and Lilly doing fine but lonesome!
This week is empty as of now and I hope it stays that way. I want to work on Star Season, One-fabric Quilt, and 5-patch baby quilt.
Well, Lator Gators! May the fabric you need appear in your stash w/o an enhancement charge. Keeping 2011 STRESS FREE!
