Since I am very bad about reporting Fabric Out, each year it looks (on paper) like my stash is increasing, yet visually it is decreasing (except for scraps which are multiplying like bacteria). I decided to count projects completed. Doing this will help in two ways: 1) It will account for all the scraps being used lately, b/c I still don't know how to count those as they come in. 2) I'm basically lazy and it is/was too easy to just send my tops/backs to DD#1. So this will encourage me to "put my big girl panties on" and learn how to use the tools on one or more of my home machines. DD#1 may or may not like this idea, since I trade piecing, hand binding, and batting for quilting.
Tne tentative plan this year is to only send quilts that need custom quilting to DD#1. This year there should only be 2 or 3 wedding, 1 graduation, and 1 extra. She already has the graduation quilt and the extra, the frog round robin so this should ease her back log.
January Goals MMG (Multiple  Monthly Goal)
Oh, how I wish I could settle on just one monthly goal (OMG)! However, it isn't happening in January b/c my quilter's ADDS is in full swing after 12 weeks of minimum fabric touching!
January has 4 goals:
1) Make the 60+ quarter square triangles in "paper bag" beige. (Begin piecing 144 blue quarter square triangles and more paper bag quarter square triangles as true leaders/enders.) Bonnie Hunter is truly an amazingly fast piecer b/c she is doing these as true leader/enders in between everything else. Being turtle slow, it would take 7 years to complete the blue round (next for me).
2) Complete a practice Red/Green Pepper table runner then piece a Fleur table runner using the Binding Tool.

3) Piece Blue Binding Tool Star Quilt-Judy L's January UFO - another round of points and then borders.
4) Binding the Green Zebra & Red/Black Wanda quilts- APQ UFO#6. The binding is ready for GZ. Since I am going to be needing more black for the Blue Star & Flying Home, R/B W will be black. Three projects with one fabric purchase - sounds like a deal to me!
Lator Gators! I am off to prepare black eye peas and cabbage for our New Year's day meal.

  1. That's quite a list for January! Good luck with your sewing plans. Are you done with the substituting for now?
