Winning of an Early B-Day Present!

I have been sewing! This is unusual b/c my muse left about 3 months ago and has only stuck her head in once in a while. I made lotto blocks(4) for KSG, 2 swap blocks(one for testing), and 2 bee blocks(1 test). Now my June bee block is being tested and then I will construct with fabrics I was sent.
Lotto Win!
My first LOTTO Win! This month at KSG I was one lucky girl - I got a fat quarter for my b-day month. Then my number was pulled for the first Lotto block set and again for the second set which I graciously gave back. A new teenage quilter won the blocks! That made me feel excellent. I received 17 completed 16 1/2" blocks and 3 packs and a bag of left over fabric.
Now my question is how do I count this? My app gave me 4 7/8 yards for the blocks. There is about 2 yards of scrap material so I won 7 1/8 yards of fabric.

Lator Gators! May the fabric you desire appear in your stash before you know you want it. Keep 2011 STRESS FREE!

Stash Report Sunday week 38?

Stash Report:
Used this week:        .5 yards given to guild member
Added this week:  -4  yards from workshop kit by Charlotte Angotti
YTD Used:           97.75 yards
YTD Added:      -163.0 yards
YTD Enhanced: -65.25 yards

I don't seem to be going in the right direction but I sure had fun with that workshop kit. It goes so well with the blocks I made at her last workshop...different pattern but same feel.
Next week should be better since I have 2 birthday presents to give to Sammie which involve fabric.  I won't be here for her b-day and we are both bummed about that. My g-son is graduating from Marine Boot Camp on October 8th and I will be there to see the changes. We have been told by several people that this is worth seeing so we are packing up the camper and off we go to the wilds of SC. LOL
In the meantime, I have lots of quilting to do on Saints' Stars and my dresden plates.  Tomorrow I will be working on lotto blocks for 2 guilds, a graduation quilt, my workshop quilt, and the binding on my daughter's saints quilt.  Lots to accomplish while my husband is bowling 9 games from 9am to 7pm. Let me say again how much I love my RV for this reason.  It is perfect to go and just chill.
Then on Monday, I will be the gofer for the workshop and then bowling so I probably won't have a design wall post but I am still working on my same two projects. Tuesday is guild meeting and lecture by Charlotte Angotti.
Lator Gators. I am off ! Have a blessed week.

Sunday Stash Report

Stash Report
Added this week: 2 yards won at LQS
Added YTD: 113.25 yards
Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 91.25 yards
Net stash reduction/enhancement: -21.5 yards
In the last month I have won 18.5 yards of fabric. How can I reduce my stash by not buying and using when I keep winning fabric? Well, it is grand fabric all of it. The picture shows what I won this week.
Now next Sunday, any gain will be mostly bought unless I am lucky again, since I am going on a Shop Hop on Friday & Saturday. I don't plan on buying much but who knows what fabric will take my fancy.
I did sew this week. I worked on my dresden plates handsewing the blades to the background. The majority of my sewing was for my DD3's classroom. It was a ugly tan/brown from ceiling to floor when we walked in Monday. Well, we added color with posters and blue curtains and other covers. Only probem was DD3 didn't want to use my stash b/c I didn't have Panda bears. So none of the fabric/sheets count. But her classroom is much more inviting and cheerful for those 3rd graders.
I am off to work on my dresden plate. I have to finish something so that I can count it.
Lator gators! Have a blessed week.

Sunday Stash Report- 4th of July

Stash Report:
Used this week: 6.92 yards between bead bags and 1 finished charity quilt.
Used YTD: 82.42 yards
Added this week: 2 yards - red fairy frost. Now for some cream, white, deep purple, and black.
Added YTD: 90.92 yards
Stash Busted: -8.5 yards Still enhancing.

I won't be enhancing my stash much until after August because I have to pay for the new BabyLock Evolution serger I bought last weekend. I do have a problem b/c I am taking my 2 grandsons to quilt camp on July 19th and they will need fabric! Some of it will come from my stash (the backings and bindings for sure) but I already know that I don't have good focus fabrics for 10 & 12 year old boys. How do I count the fabric we buy for their quilts? They should be almost finished their quilts at the end of camp. It is not for me and all I will be doing is cutting it into strips for them to use. It is puzzling me...any thoughts?

Today has been a good day so far. I am feeling a whole lot better thanks to all the home remedies I have been consuming. My problems in my opinion are happening because I have not walked since last Wednesday due to workshops and weather. I now know that I must walk to feel good.

Freedom is not Free! I am praying for my niece, my nephew, and my grandson who are all serving our country in the military. My second grandson, Gavin, will be leaving next weekend for boot camp with the marines.

When I start feeling unloved and unwanted and take advantage of, someone does something to make me feel loved, wanted, and very special indeed. My youngest daughter and granddaughter came today and cut my grass with a push mower. Ok, Spirit played with the puppies and that is a sight - 9 coal black puppies with tails awagging. Renee' pushed that mower over the front lawn, side lawn, and best of all the back yard where the tall thick grass grows.

What did I do, you ask? Well, I BBQued chicken -leg quarters and skinless boneless breast - turkey sauage and weiners between trips to the bathroom. But the food turned out great and I am feeling 1000% better.

Spirit & Renee are coming back later to rake & weedeat yards. Well, Spirit is coming back to play slip&slide with the puppies while Renee works in yard. Gosh, that is love! I am lucky to have such a thoughtful daughter and granddaughter.

Tomorrow gators Have a great 4th.

Stash Report Sunday - Mid-2010

Maxine made me do it!!!! (Blogger won't let me download pics at this time.)
Stash Report for June 20-26.

Added YTD: 88.92 yds
Used this week: 0.00 yds although I did work on my twinning rug using fabric this time
Used YTD: 75.5 yds

While this is not what I would like since my stash has not gone down, at least it has been used and enhanced a bit. I am promising myself to do better the second half of the year. Not as good as Judy L. but I will get that number down to zero or positive for a change.

Stash Busting Sunday

This has been a very interesting week. My sewing machine has not seen used all week but my ruler and rotary cutter have.
Stash Report:
Added this week: 0 I did not enhance my stash with any fabric.
Added YTD: -81.5 yds

Used this week: 7.25 yards cut into 2" strips for weaving etc.

Slow like a turtle on a hot day or molassas on a January morning. But I am getting there. We are getting ready to go on vacation(8 glorious days) and I will be sewing on a couple of projects there. I plan to make a table cloth complete with napkins and placemat to go on the outside table. I also will be working on my second daughter's college graduation quilt and purse.

Stashbusting Report Beginning

I decided that I would use fabric from my stash first and try to reduce the stacks/bins of fabric. I have put my stash on a diet since January. My stash diets like I do...not very successfully. During Lent, I didn't buy much fabric. Lent is over so I can no longer use the excuse that I gave up buying fabric (my passion) for lent. I made up for not buying fabric by using the fabric in my overflowing scrap bin to make 2 comfort quilts to be given away by my guild. Yet those scraps keep growing it seems. I know that keeping track of food intake helps me lose weight so I decided to keep a written account of the fabric that goes in and out starting today.
