Stash Reduction/Enhancement: -13.404 yards
I did better than I thought I would this year. Next year my goal is to be in the positive numbers and do some reduction like I did this week. Since everyone liked their pillowcases and potato bags, I may have to do that again. LOL
2011 is the year of UFOs for me. I have two goals for 2011: 1) for every quilt that leaves this house one will be staying; 2) each month an UFO/WIP will be completed starting with Tanya's graduation quilt. Some months will have two since I am joining Judy L's UFO challenge.
Have a great last week of the year.
Lator Gators! Be blessed!

This has been a month of finishes. I have finished my DPQ for my secret sister, got Witch Doctor Says Jungle Love quilted, and Saints Stars will be finished by next Monday. WoW. I didn't think I could accomplish that much on my must-do list. I knew I wouldn't finish the graduation quilt until January and told my DD#2 that. She understood. It is out of the camper and in the sewing room and is next on the list to be worked on as I work on pillowcases and potato sacks.
must-do list...(5) complete Saints Stars(due December 15th Progress: 4/5 done);(6) complete DD#2's graduation quilt (due December 19th-25th Progress: 1/8done) (8) make pillowcases for all grandchildren from stash and potato bags for daughters. (due December 25th Progress 3 of 7 bags made and 3 of 14 pillowcases made (9) clean and rearrange studio - I can't find a thing. (10)organize scraps into useable pieces for bonnie Hunter class;(1)complete QGA lotto blocks (2) complete embroidery on teacher shirts; (7)put binding and label on charity quilt 2. (3)complete dresden plate quilt4)complete lotto blocks for KSG (links to each completed project)
Well, back to Saint Stars. I need to work for a couple of hours to finish corners and then on to the border if I have enough fabric for one. The young man who wants it has asked to see it on Monday night so it has to have the corners and maybe one border on by then.
We are going to a concert at 3pm for my DGD#1. Only problem is that the Saints football starts at 3:30 pm. Her choir teacher is not a Saints fan. Well, DGD#1 wins only because we should be out by the fourth quarter and the Saints don't really play football until them.
Lator Gators. Have a blessed Sunday.

Fabric added YTD: - 184.417 yards
Fabric Used this Week: 8.5 yards (DPQ finished and bound)
Fabric Used YTD: 123.917 yards
Net Stash Reduction/Enhancement: 60.5 yards
Dresden Plate Quilt is done with label and on its way to its new owner. I really hope she likes it b/c we do.
DD#1 finished quilting "Wonky Jungle Love via Witch Doctor" for me and I will begin binding it tomorrow. This will be another big use for next week. Whoo hoo! Finally I am getting to the finish stages.
Well, Gators, I have to go see about Lilly. We came home to the beginning of her labor. So far there are 2 puppies. I am hoping for only 1 or 2 more. These are Yorkie mix but I don't know what the mixes are except that Leeapaul, my male yorkie, got into the mix. All I care about is that Lilly stays healthy and happy. Have a blessed week.

Fabric in YTD: 183.917 yards
Fabric Out this week: 2.787 yards
Fabric Out YTD: 115.417 yards
Stash Reduced/Enhanced: -68.5 yards
I made a pillowcase for my DGS's bday and 4 potato bags for various gifts. I also mis-cut fabric thinking I wanted a 2" strip of red then decided I wanted red paisley for the borders of the dresden.
DD#1 finished quilting my wonky log cabin so as soon as I put the label & binding on I will have another finish. Today I am working on the borders of the dresden so that will be done soon. I am making pillowcases and potato bags for Christmas presents so that is more used from the stash. Saint Stars is next on the list to be completed with only a few rows to go. Whoo Hoo, being in the black for 2010 is becoming more of a reality every day.
must-do list...(3)complete dresden plates(due by December 5th Progress: ready for borders );(4)complete lotto blocks for KSG(due Dec 9th Progress 1 done)(5) complete Saints Stars(due December 15th Progress: 3/5 done);(6) complete DD#2's graduation quilt (due December 19th-25th Progress: 1/4 done) (8) organize scraps into useable pieces for bonnie Hunter class. So excited! Over 100 yards used! I had a finish and I sent two tops with backs to my quilter (DD#1) who takes batting as payment!. I will not be able to count one top as part of my stash reduction but the other top is all stash as are the backings and bindings. Whoo Hoo!
accomplished Saturday...We got the RV an appointment in middle of December to get generator fixed and went to farm to check grass growth (not much took yet). Found out we had vandals visit the farm and destroy what little they could find there.
i am thinking...No Trespassing signs are in order. DGD#! wants to put up signs stating to BEWARE of Gun-toting Teenager/Owner!
i am remembering...how much fun it is to have a finish and get to crow about it.
i am going...to spend the Thanksgiving holiday somewhere. DH has cancelled plans and then uncancelled and then cancelled and then uncancelled. So right now I am confused as usual.
i am currently reading...blogs and quilt magazines.
i am hoping....to sew today since I didn't go to the bowling alley.
i am looking forward to....spending my Sunday in a bowling alley again (NOT, so sending Pape alone) and watching Saints at 3pm.
one of my favorite things...watching 1st and 4th quarters of Saints game.
my mood...Composed - still hurting but now I am use to the feeling so doing much better.
(Put links to each finished project below)
must-do list...(3)complete dresden plates(due by December 1st Progress: 1/3 done -center and piping and two sides);(4)complete lotto blocks for KSG(due Dec 9th)(5) complete Saints Stars (due December 15th Progress: 3/5 done);(6) complete DD#2's graduation quilt (due December 19th-25th Progress: 1/4 done) (8) organize scraps into useable pieces. Nov 7 Stash Report & NaBloPoMo
Stash Report:
Added this week: 8.917 yards
Added YTD: - 182.417 yards
Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 107.13yards
Stash Reduced/Enhanced: -75.287 yards
Those numbers are going in the wrong direction but soon I will have used numbers to show. Besides I spend two days looking and fondling the sweetest fabrics in Houston and only came home with 8.917 yards. All of it has a purpose except 1.5 yards of hand-dyes that I get every year. Soon I will have enough to do a quilt. Whoo hoo!
I bought 1 1/6 yards to make a pillowcase for my grandson's bday present and 6.5 yards for my niece's wedding quilt. Now that purchase was hard! She asked for pink and brown - pink is one of my no-no colors especially pale pink shades.
I had lots of fun in Houston and took pictures with my camera, phone, and daughter's camera then read in program that I can't post them w/o giving credit to quilter and IQFH. Well, I have no problem with that except that I didn't get the quilters' names. Oh, well. I loved the quilts but not many of them survived the husband test. "Would your husband sleep under that quilt?" It seems that each year more and more quilts are art quilts and not bed quilts.
I loved the pineapple quilts and even bought the book & ruler for myself and Pam, BFF. Well, it is time for me to get to reading 3 days of blogs and Judy L.'s stash reports.
Lator Gators until tomorrow.

Stash Report Week 42
Well, they say that 3 is the charm. One day I will post and get it right on the first try but not today. LOL
Lots of sewing but nothing to show for it yet...one day I will be finished with Saint Stars & my Dresden plate but not yet. I did sew on Anita's Arrowheads from the newest Quilt Makers Magazine. I just love how easy it is. I made slight changes in the blocks and started with 12 inch blocks instead of 8 inch and came out with 14 inch instead of 9. I like the bigger block. I received three packages in the mail this week. One from Rachel with some sweet 5" squares and one from Laura with doll patterns and the third from Charlotte Angotti with the backing for my workshop quilt. Such fun mail!
Stash Report:
Added this week: 4.5 yards
Added YTD: -170
Used this week: .38 (4 12 inch squares)
Used YTD: 103.63
Net Stash Reduced/ Enhanced: - 66.37 yards
Lator, Garots. Have a great stash busting week.

Sometimes 3 is the charm!

Fabric Out this week: 1.5 yards
Fabric In YTD: -165.5
Fabric Out YTD: 103.25
Stash Reduced/Enhanced: -61.25
Tuesday we arrived home from South Carolina.
Wednesday I cleaned out one closet in my sewing room looking for DD#1's Phaff manual. After I saw how much was stuff in the closet, I decided to make shelves on one side of that closet. DH and I went to the lumber yard to get supplies. Then I reloaded the closet and realized that we needed more supplies for the other side. I found fabric that I don't remember ever buying or receiving. That cured me of my desire for new fabric. I have a closet FULL! LOL The manual was hiding in the drawer with all the other manuals next to my Baby Lock. Don't tell DH that we didn't really need to build shelves that quickly.
Thursday we cleaned the RV.That afternoon, I went to a guild meeting where I turned in 5 fat quarters for various giveaways and my turtle lotto blocks for a total of 1.5 yards gifted. Oh, I wanted to win and didn't but I have the pattern.
Friday we took the camper to have the water pump looked at. I can camp w/o electricity (I have a hand crank sewing machine for the camper.) but not having water is a bummer.
Saturday I sewed/quilted on Saints Stars and only quit when I began experiencing a sharp burning pain in my back (Took my meds but took a while to work!) Earlier in the afternoon, my second DD and DGD came to go Dollar Store shopping. DD#2 put together the two bookcases to make a cutting table while DGD covered the top and decorated for Halloween.
Today, I plan to sew on the Saints Stars and watch the Saints (Hopefully they will win and make my quilt worth more!) with a visit to the local casino to pick up earrings. Hey, they give and I take!
Well, Lator Gators! Have a blessed day.

Design Wall Monday and Stash Report combined
Design Wall: Well, due to lack of electricity, it was a design box. I worked on the trivet set that I won. All the tops are covered and now I will put them together. I like them so much that I think I will make a table cloth for the picnic table when we camp. It won't blow off the table!
Stash Report: Nothing in (only because I could not find quilt shops in 5 states even though we took the scenic route.) All that went out was whatever fabric DD took on last Sunday afternoon...I say about 2-3 yards but she isn't admitting to any. All she admits to is taking one dresden plate sample. She turned it into something fantastic so I will give her the second one to do for me as a table center.
Well, we made it back to Louisiana with only small problems. Generator wouldn't work and water pump went out so we did primitive camping in a motor home. Bottled water to wash with and I started up the gas stove to cook on. Luckily it wasn't hot at night until Sunday night and then we learned windows do open slightly. It was an adventure!!!
I enjoyed my visit to South Carolina immensely. Parris Island is an interesting place. We went round in circles all morning and part of the afternoon Thursday trying to find out where to register for the RV park. The marines would direct us to the MCX and the civilians there would tell us there was no such place. Finally, I started calling people on the base and my husband grabbed a marine and between us we got registered. Like I said it was an adventure. Leaving the base after graduation on Friday was another adventure. Let's just say that my motor home visited over 96% of that base and some areas were not for visitors.
My grandson's graduation was neat and very impressive. I am so proud that he managed to transform himself into a Marine. He looked so special in his uniform and marched perfectly. I have now seen graduations for the Army, Navy, and Marines. My husband hopes that at least one grandchild follows him and joins the Air Force. I will be at that one too if it happens.
We are at DD's home b/c DGS#6 first basketball game of the season. She fed us roast and mash potatoes which Pape loved and other than salty, I thought was excellent. No one worries about me and the salt issue since everything is too salty for me. DD also showed us several (more than 3) quilts or tops she is working on or has completed. How I wish I could cram as much as she does in a 24 hour day! I can just imagine how much she would get done with the Phaff working properly. (Any one who has a Phaff Grand Quilter and can help her get it working properly?)I am using her computer to check blogs etc while she works in the other room.
At home I have the Saints quilt and my dresden plates waiting for me to work on. Both are due in December or before. It looks like we are taking home a quilt for me to work on the bindings and a dog. Good thing I love to work on bindings but that gives us 1 too many dogs for traveling.
Well, lator gators when I get home.

Stash Report Sunday week 38-39?
I broke even!!!!! That is a first for me.
Stash Report:
Used this week: 4.5 yards
Added this week: 4.5 yards
Used YTD: 101.75 yards
Added YTD: -163.5 yards
Stash reduced/ENHANCED: -61.75 yards.
I gave away .5 yard to a guild member who loved the fabric. I made Samantha a 6 Fat Quarter Bag Purse and a fat quarter and mesh purse for her b-day. So I managed to use 4.5 yards this week.
But I bought 2 Charlotte Angotti kits for 4 yards and was gifted a charm pack so I managed to add 4.5 yards this week.
At least I am coming out even.
Lator Gators...Hubby wants to travel to casino for the day.

Stash Report Sunday week 38?
Stash Report:
Used this week: .5 yards given to guild member
Added this week: -4 yards from workshop kit by Charlotte Angotti
YTD Used: 97.75 yards
YTD Added: -163.0 yards
YTD Enhanced: -65.25 yards
I don't seem to be going in the right direction but I sure had fun with that workshop kit. It goes so well with the blocks I made at her last workshop...different pattern but same feel.
Next week should be better since I have 2 birthday presents to give to Sammie which involve fabric. I won't be here for her b-day and we are both bummed about that. My g-son is graduating from Marine Boot Camp on October 8th and I will be there to see the changes. We have been told by several people that this is worth seeing so we are packing up the camper and off we go to the wilds of SC. LOL
In the meantime, I have lots of quilting to do on Saints' Stars and my dresden plates. Tomorrow I will be working on lotto blocks for 2 guilds, a graduation quilt, my workshop quilt, and the binding on my daughter's saints quilt. Lots to accomplish while my husband is bowling 9 games from 9am to 7pm. Let me say again how much I love my RV for this reason. It is perfect to go and just chill.
Then on Monday, I will be the gofer for the workshop and then bowling so I probably won't have a design wall post but I am still working on my same two projects. Tuesday is guild meeting and lecture by Charlotte Angotti.
Lator Gators. I am off ! Have a blessed week.

Stash Report Sunday week 37?
I have been sitting at the computer reading all the great stash reports. Mine is not that great.
97.25 159 61.75
I can't claim to have enhanced my stash with great fabric purchases since no fabric came to my house this week.
I can't claim to have reduced my stash because I still haven't finished a project. Although I have been working everyday on the Saints' Stars and the SS Dresden plates, I can't claim that fabric because I only count when the project is binded and completely finished. So....
Stash Report:
Fabric added this week: 0
Fabric used this week: 0
I still haven't put the correct programs on my new computer and am still too lazy to bring up my old one, so I can't even give correct YTD accounts. But I know I am still in the ENHANCING stage.
Oh, well...sigh. One day I will get back on track and have great numbers to show, but until then I will just muddle along happily singing my off tune song side by side with my DH.
Have a blessed Sunday and a great week.
Lator Gators.
Well, DD#3 came over with the disk I needed and I installed my programs. So I can now show where my numbers have been going in the wrong direction. But most used was from old stash.

Design Wall & Stash Report Combo
Stash Report:
I still haven't put Office on my new computer and am too lazy to get out the tablet. I bought several Halloween fat quarters this week and 3 yards of Kona black for the saints quilt. So I ADDED about 4 1/2 yards of fabric. Since I don't count fabric until the quilt is done, zero in the USED column. I am just exchanging fabrics.
Design Wall:
I am still working on my Dresden plate and my Saints Stars quilt. I laid out the saints quilt and it looks just like the EQ7 picture. I showed this in my last Finishing Friday post if you would like to see the progress. I am experiencing technical difficulties with my BabyLocks...both machines are acting the fool. I know I know...I am the fool but I would rather blame them.
This weekend I worked on my second daughter's graduation quilt while waiting for my husband to finish bowling...this is exactly why I bought my mobile home(RV). My only problem is that I got adopted by a preteen with a cell phone fetish. Those who know me know that was not fun for me but I was polite and let her iron and trim blocks while she talked my ear off. I will probably have to re-iron all those blocks but I got 12 of 26 blocks done. I only work on this quilt when I am camping so it will sit and wait for a while. Our next trip is in October to see my grandson graduate from marine boot camp.
Well, I am off to sew on swap blocks for the two guilds I belong to. Lator, Gators.

Stash Report Sunday
Stash Report:
Fabric out this week: 0000
Fabric in this week: 2 1/4 yards of pink & brown floral for wedding quilt.
I still don't have my new computer loaded with excel so I don't have the correct numbers for this report. I am in the RED! That goes without saying since I only count finishes as fabric used and I haven't finished anything in a long time. That said I am working on finishing 3 quilts and 3 bags all at the same time. My friend says that I work on too many projects at one time. She just may be right! I started buying the fabric for my niece's wedding quilt. She requested pink & brown so I have to buy fabric since I do not have pink in my stash. The pattern is picked and I will start slowly buying pinks (ugh) and browns for the quilt. I will start it after the first of the year. She has been warned that it would not be ready for her wedding (12/31)...I have 2 graduation quilts, a secret sister quilt, and a Saints quilt to finish first.
(I have finished all the regular games...next comes the last post-season games. This phase is almost done. )
Lator Gators! Have a blessed Sunday. See you tomorrow.

Design Wall & Stash Report Combo
I bought a new computer last week so as of this moment it does not have a word process on it so I do not know the previous numbers for my stash report.
Installation of programs will come after Tuesday probably Saturday.

Installation of programs will come after Tuesday probably Saturday.
Stash Report:
Added this week: 6 yards for the saints quilt
2 yards of fat quarters with veggie prints
1/4 yard of Halloween fat quarter.
Total this week: 8 1/4 yards
Used this week: 2 yards of black - squares of saints quilt
1 yard of black & gold - star points
3 yards of muslin for presentation sussies
Total this week: 6 yards
Net this week: -2 1/4 yards but I am working.
This past week I worked on my presentations and got thru the first one. With a few computer
problems, it went well. I found out where I needed to improve and what to add to provide more information. The guild members and the guests all loved the sussie I gave them to color. LOL
The hardest part of getting ready for these presentations is preparing the fabric for printing. Cutting the freezer paper, ironing the muslin, cutting muslin to size, and ironing freezer paper to the muslin was very time consuming. I got the 20 witches printed and the 210 mojoes printed
and learned lots about using Bubble Jet solution.LOL Tomorrow is the next presentation - the big one! Honestly, I have butterflies by the thousands fluttering in my bowels.
Other than the presentation, I have been working on my Saint's
quilt. I have embroidered the first 6 game scores and the center with batting on the back of each square. I intend to put the quilt together using a quilt-as-you-go method where there is different quilting on the back than the front. Hopefully it will work.
I finished the first part of the hand work on the dresden plates. Now I have to hand sew circles, arcs, and pacman symbols. All in all that is going well too.
Well off I go to set up old computer to print for presentation tomorrow. Hopefully, I won't have a
heart attack before the day is over. It will feel so good to get back to sewing especially since I am so close to actually quilting on two quilts..
Lator Gators. Have a blessed week. Check back tomorrow for up dates & pictures of me passing out.

Sunday Stash Report
Well, the good news is that this week, I didn't buy any fabric and I sewed several items. Bad news is that I only count the fabric after it is in useable form and I didn't finish anything. Next week, I know I will be able to count 1 yard of muslin b/c I have treated it and printed on it for a presentation I am giving on Thursday. Then I will get to count 2-4 more yards for the same reasons on the 31st. But until then nothing can be counted as used.

Sunday Stash Report
Stash Report:
At the third shop, I found two books and a panel set. Ah, the fourth shop, which I had never been to, got me started! I bought a kit and books.
Fabric used: 0 still working dresden plate and charity quilts
Fabric used YTD: 91.75
Fabric added: -33 yards with NO GUILT this time.
Fabric added YTD: -145.25
Stash reduction/enhancement: -54.5
Ah, home from the shop hop. The bus trip was amazing and so very much fun. I am glad that I did this although I feel that it would have been more fun with Dee and/or Pam. (Grousing about having to wear Big Girl Panties and not being babied!) I almost kept my promise to myself that I would look only for kits that called my name and books/templates. Promises are made to be broken especially to one's self. LOL
At the first shop, I didn't buy anything. It is my LQS and I go there every Tuesday to have "lunch" with DD#1.
The second shop, I saw a collection I wanted that was not out for sale, but this shop is close enough for me to do my own hopping. I love coffee theme fabric and they had the red version. I did buy a fat quarter for my saints quilt, a quilt as you go pattern, and some batting ta
pe.
The next shop was fantastic and is very close to where I camp so hubby can expect trips there. I bought templates, fabric, white mesh, books, etc. I spent the most in that shop and want to go back.

At the last shop, well- a bad first impression that kept many of our group from spending like they had at the other shops, I got more templates. book, and all the fabric I need for my saints quilt and free design CD that can be used for LSU and Saints quilts.
Not counting the buying at the end of the hop at LQS, our group spent over $15,000 in the 6 quilt shops we went to and most of us spent the most at the shop in Mandeville and the least at the last shop. I didn't spend over the amount I budgeted for this trip and I got a lead on a used Statler with computerized software. Decision now is do I persue the lead or wait for my quilting studio. I know that DD#1 would gladly accept my Phaff and frame as a Christmas gift, B-day gift, etc for the next few years.
Well, lator gators! I have to go fondle my new fabrics and enjoy the other items not to mention work on my dresden plate. Have a blessed week.

Sunday Stash Report
Stash Report
Added this week: 2 yards won at LQS
Added YTD: 113.25 yards
Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 91.25 yards
In the last month I have won 18.5 yards of fabric. How can I reduce my stash by not buying and using when I keep winning fabric? Well, it is grand fabric all of it. The picture shows what I won this week.
Now next Sunday, any gain will be mostly bought unless I am lucky again, since I am going on a Shop Hop on Friday & Saturday. I don't plan on buying much but who knows what fabric will take my fancy.
I did sew this week. I worked on my dresden plates handsewing the blades to the background. The majority of my sewing was for my DD3's classroom. It was a ugly tan/brown from ceiling to floor when we walked in Monday. Well, we added color with posters and blue curtains and other covers. Only probem was DD3 didn't want to use my stash b/c I didn't have Panda bears. So none of the fabric/sheets count. But her classroom is much more inviting and cheerful for those 3rd graders.
I am off to work on my dresden plate. I have to finish something so that I can count it.
Lator gators! Have a blessed week.

Stash Report:
Added this week: 6.5 yards
Added YTD: -111.25
Used this week: 3.25 yards (Halloween 6 fat quarter bag for Sammie)
Used YTD: 90.5
Stash Reduction/Enhancement: -19.5 yards
This week the gain in my stash is my fault or rather the fault of my fickle muse. We just couldn't decide to use the coffee fabric for the dresden plate quilt. My muse wants that fabric to stay here. So off to the LQS I went with my bag of fabrics to see if there was something that could be done with all those black, white, & red fabrics I won.
Well, to make a long time short - I bought 5 yards of fabric and 6 fat quarters (Halloween). 3 yards were of yellow for the background of the black & white dresden fan secret sister quilt and 2 yards of red just in case my muse let me do it my way.
The fat quarters were for a bag for my granddaughter and are already sewn together. So I do have a few yards used this week.

4) Not to mention the 2 BOMs
5) Not to mention the 2 Mystery Quilts
6) Not to mention Tanya's Graduation Quilt
7) Not to mention Autumn Leaves.
Dang, Gators, I had better get busy or I won't be finished in 2010.

Sunday Stash Report
I din't do it!!! I promise I din't want to do it!
Stash Report:
Used this week: 0 yards ( too busy helping boys with their first quilts.)
Used YTD: 88.25 yards
Added this week: 2.5 yards (10 fat quarters won playing quilto at guild picnic)
Added YTD: -104.75 yards
We came home from Florida Saturday and left on Sunday for BR with the boys. I drove the boys to quilt camp each morning at 9:30am and pinned & ironed for them until 3pm. Even though there was a quilt shop within my walking distance, I didn't visit it. I wanted to b/c I wanted halloween fabric to make Sammie, DGD, a 6 fat quarter bag, but I din't go.
Thursday, the boys were finished as much as they could do with the machines I
had brought. I forgot a walking foot and Chris' machine wouldn't adjust
correctly. They basted their quilts and MaMa(me) will sew them on her new machine. (The boys do not touch my Babylock. Very few people get that privilege.) Pape,DH, and Dee (DD) found the boys two more machines for me to get into shape so they can continue quilting at my house.
Thursday nite was our annual Stitch Witches Guild July Picnic. Lots of great salads mmmm...boys made sad faces when I left with the old fashion fruit salad and pea salad. They were all smiles when I came back with leftovers. Anyhow, I won 10 fat quarters during the Quilto games. I din't want to but it happened.
This trip went w/o a hitch/issue except that some joker turned off our water. Boys were great and quilt camp was interesting. I even learned a new way to put on flat borders and to spray baste quilt layers.
This week I need to start sewing. I think I will cut Halloween fabric from Sammie's piece of my stash and I will work on my secret sister's quilt....finally decided to do a dresen fan.
Lator gators. Have a blessed week.
